T'ai Chi College of Santa Barbara

T’ai Chi is a centuries old martial art that relies on the practice of “letting go” of tension, and focusing your attention. It can be learned by almost anyone and done anywhere. It is a way to learn to practice economy, efficiency and calmness.

Classes

T'ai Chi College of Santa Barbara currently offers one Beginning Class weekly - Saturdays at La Mesa Park at 10AM. Beginners are always welcome at group classes. Instructor David Barton will also teach private and semiprivate classes upon request.

Second Section, First Movement

Instructor

David Barton is the senior student of Grandmaster Kai-Ying Tung in the U.S., having studied and assisted the Master for over 45 years. Mr. Barton is currently the Director of the Tung school in Santa Barbara and a Licensed Acupuncturist since 1977. He has taught in elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels as well as special situations such as with stroke victims, the blind, wheel-chair bound, and elite athletes.
